CONDITIONS OF PLAY

Format of Play:  Modified Scramble Format.  18-hole stroke play.

  • A team shall be composed of four (4) participants.
  • Each member-accompanied team shall be composed of at least one member and three guests.  Entry Fee is Php 10,000.00 per team.
  • Four-Man Teams without a Club member shall be grouped in the Guest and Sponsor’s Division.  Entry fee is Php 12,000.00 per team.
  • Only member accompanied teams are qualified to win the official Splendido Cup.

MODIFIED SCRAMBLE FORMAT –

  • All four players drive from their respective tee off areas (Blue Tees for Men and Red Tees for Ladies).
  • Upon selecting the Best drive, the other members of the team may place their balls in the same condition (through the green or in a hazard) within one club-length (not nearer the hole) of the original ball.
  • The player whose ball was chosen CANNOT HIT THE NEXT SHOT.  In the event that the player whose ball was chosen plays out of turn, a penalty of two (2) strokes will be imposed on the team for the violation.  Therefore, after 4 players hit their drives, only a maximum of 3 players will hit the 2nd, 3rd, 4th shots, etc. until the Team holes out on the putting green.

Please see following example:

  Drive 2nd shot 3rd shot 4th shot 5th shot
Player A A   A   A
Player B B B B B
Player C C C C C C
Player D D D   D D

Drive – Player A’s ball was chosen so only Player B, C, & D hits the 2nd shot
2nd shot – Player  D’s ball was chosen so only Player A, B, & C hits the 3rd shot.
3rd shot – Player A’s ball was chosen again so only Player B, C, & D hits the 4th shot
4th shot – Player B’s ball was chosen so only Player A, C, & D hits the 5th shot.

This sequence is followed until the team holes out on the putting green.

Handicap Indices:  Unified Handicapping System (UNHS) handicap index as of September 2016 shall be used.

  • A team may only have one player with a handicap index of 4.0 and below.
  • TEAM HANDICAP = 10% of the total HANDICAP INDEX of the 4 Team Members.  Decimals shall be rounded off to the nearest whole number,
    • e.g. A Total Handicap index of 54 x 10%= 5.4 = handicap of 5,
    • A Total Handicap index of 55 x 10%= 5.5 = handicap of 6, etc.

Classification:  The field will be divided into three divisions based on the total of the handicap indices of the team members.

Classifications will be as follows:

Division I Lowest 30%
Division II 2nd lowest 30%
